Each episode of this now defunct podcast had 70 minutes of obscure metal on it (some punk as well), all ripped from my collection of tapes and records. I did the introductions in French with my best imitation of the serial killer in The New York Ripper (quack quack, "you disappoint me duck!"). I cut, mixed and recorded a new issue every once in a while, not as often as I should, I know, but I must confess it took me an awful lot of time to dig up the good stuff. In the beginning I tended to feature more well-known bands with songs that are not often heard (cover versions) or stuff from later releases that critics and fans usually dismiss (DISHARMONIC ORCHESTRA or XYSMA come to mind...), but of late I tried to focus on the really obscure... Stuff I sometimes didn't remember but which sounded even better 25 years later, as well as newer/older bands I've just discovered. The insane amount of reissues out there made that exercise both easier and a bit more perilous now, but there were still some hidden gems to be found at the far ends of the spectrum.
For those of you non-french speakers who are interested in discovering the first 9 editions of this podcast, I've uploaded all 9 episodes I did on Mixcloud, in their ridiculousy over the top French-speaking glory.
